“Boruto” Episode 72 is coming back next week and will be the last episode to have the show’s previous timeslot. In any case, the episode is likely to reveal the reason why Mitsuki leaves Konoha in such an abrupt and violent manner. Regardless of the motivation, however, his actions are just not surprising. It has been expected since the moment it was revealed who he was.
“Boruto” Episode 72 be the start of the new arc focusing on Mitsuki and his decision to leave the village. As the preview clip for the episode reveals, the title of the next ninja session will be “Mitsuki’s Will” and confirms exactly what everyone already knew. His teammates took absolutely no interest in their companion. This was evident from the fact that they didn’t even know he was Orochimaru’s clone at the start.
Now, they are going to act all surprised that Mitsuki does what he was always bound to do? This should be the complete opposite of fans of the franchise since the days of “Naruto.” In fact, “Boruto” Episode 72 likely will not reveal anything that could surprise those who have been following the property for years.
As Comicbook.com notes, for example, “Boruto” Episode 72 might see Mitsuki become the next Sasuke. There are a lot of similarities between the two characters, after all. Both are without parents, and both are extremely skilled ninjas. The fact that the two left Konoha under terrible circumstances is simply perhaps the biggest common factor between them.
With this being the case, no one who has been paying attention should share the surprise that Boruto and his friends showed when they heard the news. If “Boruto” Episode 72 reveals that Mitsuki has been planning the downfall of Konoha all along, it would be taken as simply par for the course. Fans will need to wait until Sept. 6 to find out.
