‘Boruto’ chapter 46 release date, speculations: Who sent Koji to kill Jigen?

“Boruto” chapter 46 will continue with the fight between Jigen and Koji. What’s even more interesting is that it might reveal something about Koji’s past and how he became a member of Kara.

‘Boruto’ chapter 45 recap

Everyone in Konoha was suspicious when they learned that Amado wanted to defect. Even Kawaki can’t figure out why Kara’s scientist would betray the organization.

However, Kawaki knew that Amado’s absence from Kara’s headquarters meant that something very serious is afoot. As the head of Kara’s r&d, Amado knows too much about the organization that Jigen would not allow him to venture outside.

“Him just being here is an act of treason that incur Jigen’s wrath,” Kawaki explained to Naruto and the rest. “I bet Amado has come prepared to die.”

His situation was confirmed by Amado himself showing his determination to share what he knows of Kara. “I have nowhere to go if Konoha rejects me,” the Kara scientist said. “Even if I manage to get away from here, I won’t be able to escape Jigen so I’m dead either way.”

Amado then dropped a major revelation. “Jigen is an Ohtsutsuki or rather he became an Ohtsutsuki,” the defector said. “He originally was an ordinary human just like us.”

As explained by Amado, Ohtsutsuki’s can be viewed as alien parasites from another planet. Their main goal is to devour the life of an entire planet.

They do this by planting the Divine Tree that absorbs chakra from every living thing on the planet. After it bears the chakra fruit, they harvest it killing every living thing in the process before moving on to another planet.

Amado then treated Naruto, Sasuke, and Shikamaru to a live show of the confrontation happening between Jigen and Koji back at the Kara headquarters using his glasses as the projector and Koji’s toad as the transmitter. In the scene, Jigen was accusing Koji of conspiring with Amado to crash the ship so Kawaki could escape. Amado also revealed that Kashin Koji is his only collaborator within Kara.

Jigen demanded from Koji what his and Amado’s motives are for rising up against him. He’s having a hard time trying to figure the traitors out especially since they’ve made an agreement about the chakra fruit.

Koji then attacked the Kara leader using shurikens. However, Jigen disappeared from his chair and reappeared behind Koji attacking the latter from behind. Jigen promised not to kill his subordinate right away since he wants to know everything.

However, it turned out that the Koji that was stabbed by Jigen was just a shadow clone. The real Jigen was actually standing a few meters behind Jigen.

‘Boruto’ chapter 46 speculations

“Boruto” chapter 46 will likely continue where the previous chapter left off, which is the fight between Jigen and Koji. What’s interesting is that Koji hinted that he might be planted in Kara for the purpose of destroying it from within.

“I have no interest in the chakra fruit,” Koji told Jigen. “From the very beginning, I was created to kill you.”

Given this statement, “Boruto” chapter 46 will likely continue the fight between the two. In addition, it might also feature Koji’s past, and perhaps explain a bit on who created him to kill Jigen.

“Boruto” chapter 46 will arrive on Mangaplus on May 20.
