Burger King UK is the next fast-food chain this year to have ventured into fashion. It unveiled its “Fall Collection Sauce Couture” late last week, and this was made possible through a collaboration with BBH London, a creative agency.
Burger King UK’s all-silk shirt was designed by Katie Eary, a British designer, and Rav Matharu of clothsurgeon brought the design to life. The printed luxury clothing was released in one size and features a camouflage print, but on close look, the image of ingredients used in the restaurant’s Gourmet King burger range such as tomatoes, lettuce, onions, cheddar cheese, and bacon, become noticeable.
The design was said to have been made this way to camouflage spillages when enjoying the saucy burgers and other food menus. This is why the camouflage shirt was also described to have been designed for messy eaters so regardless of how much ketchup has splattered on the silk top, it will not be so visible and look out of place.
“After months in the making, we are so excited to reveal our passion project to the world and celebrate the new Gourmet Kings Range in collaboration with two cutting-edge craftsmen: Katy Eary and Cloth Surgeon,” Fashion United quoted Burger King UK’s brand and communication director, Soco Nunez, as saying in a statement. “We want our fans to enjoy the premium ingredients of The Argentinian and The Steakhouse burgers without worrying about spillages and urge them to get gloriously messy!”
BBH London’s creative director, Felipe Guimaraes, also said they want to do something for Burger King that would fit in its culture, and craft a limited-edition silk shirt that can conceal spillages of the burger joint’s newest range of burgers seems to be the perfect answer.
In any case, the Burger King UK “Fall Collection” is being offered as part of the promotion for the newly-launched Gourmet King burgers - the Argentinean and the Steakhouse. As per HypeBeast, the silk shirts will be limited and only 100 are going to be made available for customers.
Finally, customers who will buy any of the Gourmet Kings range sandwiches using the Burger King app can win a shirt. Burger King UK will be choosing the winners through a prize draw.
