“Chicago PD” season 6 episode 2 is coming on Oct. 3 and it is the final chapter of the One Chicago crossover. It is titled “Endings” and NBC recently dropped promo images for the much-anticipated collaboration with the other popular “Chicago” series.
As per TV Guide, the synopsis for “Chicago PD” season 6 episode 2 crossover reads: "After discovering the true cause of the high-rise fire, Intelligence races to find the man responsible."

Fans who have been following the "Chicago" programs – “Chicago PD,” “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago Med” -- will understand the crossover story much better. A large part of the “Chicago PD” season 6 episode 2 plot is connected to the other two mentioned shows in the crossover event so those who only watch any one of these may find this episode a bit confusing. Then again, everyone should look out for the complex but great stories being narrated because there are life lessons to learn.
Now, setting aside the crossover event, “Chicago PD” season 6 will continue with the Intelligence Unit still reeling from the death of Det. Al Olinsky (Elias Koteas). According to TV Insider, his tragic death in season 5’s finale will be a big blow and his colleagues will be feeling the loss and will be racked with crippling guilt at the same time.
The veteran detective’s shocking end left the unit devastated and the team will continue to mourn and feel guilt-ridden in the succeeding episodes following “Chicago PD” season 6’s premiere.
At any rate, Anne Heche has signed up to play Katherine “Kate” Brennan, the deputy superintendent of police. It was assumed that her character was added to make things hard for Sgt. Hank Voight (Jason Beghe). She’s smart, straight to the point, and has a political mind. That should be good, but she’s also cunning and self-serving.
"Her focus is getting her boss elected mayor so she could then move up to his job," St. Louis Today quoted executive producer Rick Eid as saying. "Sometimes they’ll (Voight and Brennan) be in harmony. Sometimes they’ll be in conflict."
Jack Coleman is also returning to “Chicago PD” season 6 as Bob Ruzek but his role will only recur throughout the season. Access reported that he will be seen in episode 5, which will air on Oct. 24.
“Chicago PD” season 6 premiered on Sept. 26 and it will continue to air every Wednesday at 10 p.m.
