Chili's Secret Nashville Hot Mozzarella Debuts, Adding a Spicy Twist to a Viral Favorite
A secret menu item has a certain allure, especially when it's a culinary creation bound to make the Internet rounds. Inspired by the viral popularity of its Triple Dipper appetizer special, Chili's has joined the secret menu club with a unique item—the Nashville Hot Mozz, a spicy twist on its iconic fried mozzarella. This exclusive edition is not on the regular menu, making it a special treat for those in the know.
TikTokers are already in love with Chili's mozzarella, thanks to the beautiful cheese pull that creates mouth-watering foodie content. Now, the chain has upped the ante with its new Nashville Hot Mozz. According to Eat This, Not That, this spicy take on the gooey favorite retains the excellent cheese pull and the perfectly crunchy exterior. Still, every indulgent bite adds a dash of heat, as the fried mozzarella is bathed in the chain's Nashville Hot Sauce.
Chili's Nashville Hot sauce is typically served with chicken crispers. Customers will need to know to ask for this secret item, as it won't appear on the menu.
Chili's Triple Dipper allows diners to select three appetizers and enjoy them with a trio of dipping sauces, allowing for hundreds of flavor combinations. The special's versatility will enable creators to repeatedly return to Chili's to taste the Triple Dipper in all its variable glory. This menu item has been around for decades but has recently seen a significant surge in popularity with the TikTok generation.
Chili's Triple Dipper Thrives on TikTok; New Nashville Hot Mozz Secret Menu Item Adds Spice
Of all the Triple Dipper options, the fried mozzarella is a top choice for Internet enthusiasts. Still, other app options include Southwestern egg rolls, boneless wings, crispy chicken crispers, big mouth bites, and more. Sauce options include ranch, buffalo ranch, honey mustard, sweet chili zing, and more. The combo is priced at $17.29 for a shareable platter and is also available for takeout and delivery platforms like UberEats.
"Nashville Hot Mozz doesn't exist without the viral moment our iconic Triple Dipper is having this summer," George Felix, CMO of Chili's, told Restaurant Business. "Watching one cheese pull after another on TikTok, a member of our leadership team asked if we'd ever tried our fried mozzarella in our Nashville Hot sauce. More than 30 million views and a trip to the test kitchen later, we're answering the call of sauce enthusiasts everywhere. We wanted to move quickly so we launched it as a secret menu item, and we will see if Nashville Hot Mozz deserves a permanent spot on the menu."
Already, TikTok users are sharing their love of the new item, which isn't quite "spicy" but has a nice creaminess to balance the heat.
Chili's also offers a fantastic way to enjoy a trio of menu items at a bundle price. The new "3 for Me" special is a value meal with a beverage, starter, and main course, starting at just $10.99. With options like the crispy chicken sandwich or a big smasher burger, it's a great deal for those looking for a satisfying meal at a great price.
