West Palm Beach, Fla., March 07, 2017 -- Cloud Logistics, the provider of one of the most innovative Transportation Management Systems (TMS) in the supply chain software industry, congratulates four of this year’s Supply and Demand Chain Executive’s 2017 Pros to Know award winners: Jordan Downs of Central Garden & Pet Company, Rick Meyer of Badcock Home Furniture, and Mark Nix and David Landau, both of Cloud Logistics.
The Pros to Know Awards recognize supply chain executives who are leading initiatives to help prepare their companies’ supply chains for the significant challenges of today’s business climate. Award winners are selected from a group of nominees in two categories: practitioners and providers.
Cloud Logistics applauds Jordan Downs of Central Garden & Pet as a first-time winner of the award. Central Garden & Pet’s deployment of a cloud-based TMS in less than 30 days has helped them consistently deliver to customer expectations and hold ship points, vendors and carriers accountable.
Rick Meyer, another first-time recipient of the practitioner award, also spearheaded a TMS implementation. Meyer says that a cloud-based TMS enables better and earlier transportation decisions, which ultimately improve inventory management across the network. "Not having product exactly where and when we need it is extremely costly," says Meyer. "Today, a vendor enters the loads into the TMS’ vendor portal when they are ready. The TMS then picks a carrier and tenders the load. Upon acceptance, the carrier picks up the load and everything runs smoothly, with little to no human effort on our part." Badcock has been able to reduce order lead times, minimize inventory safety stock and reduce its overall transportation costs by approximately $500,000 over a 12 month period.
Both Mark Nix, CEO and founder of Cloud Logistics, and David Landau, EVP at Cloud Logistics, have been honored with this award on multiple occasions. “I’d like to congratulate Jordan and Rick for their awards this year. They each continue to drive the industry change from a large, heavy TMS solution that takes half a year or more to deploy, to one in which fully capable solutions can be deployed in just a few weeks,” offered Mark Nix.
