“Colony” season 4 has been canceled by USA Network. The third installment wrapped up on July 25, 2018, and fans were devastated to know that the said TV network pulled out the sci-fi drama from its programming line up.
The show was launched at the San Diego Comic-Con in 2015, and it was a hit at first. In fact, it dominated the Thursday timeslot viewing. However, when the show was moved to Wednesdays airing time, there was a slight shift in viewership ratings between seasons 1 and 2. The number plummeted even more throughout season 3 and averaging just 760,000 total viewers.
From its debut viewership ratings of about 2.2. million to a steep decline of over 700,000, it is clear why USA Network decided not to order “Colony” season 4. Likewise, despite the drama’s good casting that includes “Prison Break” star Sarah Wayne Callies and “Lost” alum Josh Holloway, plus Carlton Cuse served as its producer and screenwriter, the show still did not last.
Now, with the cancellation of “Colony” season 4, fans have demanded the return of the sci-fi drama. A petition was set up, and fans continue to sign up today. It was addressed to USA Network, Netflix, Amazon Studios, Syfy, Hulu and HBO in an effort to call them out to renew the show. From the list, Amazon and Netflix are the leading targets because compared to the others, they are more likely to pick up the show.
“Colony” season 4, if renewed, is expected to continue its futuristic storyline that follows the lives of the Bowman family who are fighting to survive amid the attacks from a group of alien species that conquered and took over Earth. As for the cast, it may change as each one has new projects in their hands.
