Curry 12 Colorways Revealed; Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s adidas Signature Shoe Returns October 18

Stephen Curry’s “Gravity” colorway and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s adidas shoe return on October 18th.

On October 18th, sneaker fans can look forward to the launch of Stephen Curry’s Curry 12 "Gravity" colorway, inspired by outer space, and the return of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s iconic adidas signature shoe. Both releases celebrate basketball legends and their lasting influence on the game.

Stephen Curry's New Curry 12 Colorways Reflect His ‘Otherworldly’ Presence, Launching October 18th

Stephen Curry's quest for a fifth championship ring begins soon, marking his first campaign without long-time teammate Klay Thompson. Despite the roster change, Golden State’s hopes for another title remain centered on Curry, a transcendent figure in basketball whose influence extends beyond the court. The term "superstar" hasn't been enough to capture the magnitude of the GOAT shooter in years.

As previously announced, the Curry 12 colorways reflect Stephen’s "otherworldly" presence, with each design inspired by outer space elements. The first colorway, “Curry Camp,” featured a vibrant pattern reminiscent of the galaxy’s vast and colorful spectrum. On October 18th, Curry Brand will follow up with the “Gravity” colorway, a sleek grey, black, and neon iteration of the Curry 12, accented with speckles resembling space dust on the midsole.

In addition, Curry Brand will introduce two more colorways. The “Wardell Mode,” arriving in a black-and-white palette, symbolizes the moments when Steph channels his alter ego, dominating games with a barrage of three-pointers. This edition is expected to be released during the 2024 holiday season for $140. Another upcoming release is the “Shooting Star” colorway, featuring a fractal pattern on the midsole and heel in shades of grey and black. It is also slated for a holiday 2024 release at the same price.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's Iconic adidas Signature Shoe Returns with Retro Release on October 18th

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, a record-setter, icon, and legend, continues to be a towering influence on and off the court. Known for his contributions to basketball and civil rights, Abdul-Jabbar's legacy also extends into the world of sneakers. Nearly five decades after his partnership with adidas began, the brand is set to honor his legacy with a retro release of the newly titled adidas Jabbar.

In a time when few athletes had signature shoes, Abdul-Jabbar’s collaboration with adidas in 1978 broke new ground. As the first athlete to have his likeness featured on the tongue of a sneaker, he set the stage for many of the iconic designs that followed, such as the Stan Smith. The adidas Jabbar retro revisits some original design elements, including angled stitching at the quarter, a leather collar, and a suede mudguard on the toe. The updated midsole, infused with an off-white tint, enhances the shoe's vintage appeal. Available in classic OG blue and white, the Jabbar Retro will be offered in both Low and high versions.

According to Sneaker News, the adidas Jabbar is set to release on October 18th through adidas channels, both online and in-store, and the CONFIRMED app and select retailers. The Hi will retail for $110, while the Lo version will be priced at $100, giving sneakerheads and basketball historians a chance to revisit this iconic style nearly 50 years later.
