“Cyberpunk 2077” was first announced seven years ago, but until this day fans waiting for the role-playing video game is still clueless about its release date window. With the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2019 in the horizon, hopes are up that this would change soon.
One piece of good news is that “Cyberpunk 2077” is confirmed to be at E3 in June. CD Projekt Red, the title’s developer, has yet to announce whether an all-new gameplay walkthrough will be released at the said convention. As previously reported, however, the Polish video game company has announced they will be hosting private gameplay demos at the same venue.
What are the chances that the release date window of “Cyberpunk 2077” would be announced at E3 2019? In the company’s Q1 2019 financial briefing, CD Projekt Red CEO Adam Kiciński promised, “We will be taking part in the upcoming edition of E3, which is shaping up to be the most important fair in CD PROJEKT’s history. We want to be even more prominent in Los Angeles than we were last year.”
At the moment, “Cyberpunk 2077” is obviously the biggest project of CD Projekt Red. If it plans to have its “most important” gaming convention presence ever, the company must have all-new information to reveal at the event to make headlines.

CD Projekt Red has so far announced they will have a “Cyberpunk 2077” presentation booth at E3 that increases the likelihood of a new trailer to be revealed in June. As for the closed-door demos, the company is eyeing to invite “prominent journalists and opinion leaders” that could confirm new gameplay details are bound to be reported in the coming months. On the other hand, a release date window announcement will be more fitting in a publicly accessible stage.
It has been confirmed that players will assume the character named V in “Cyberpunk 2077,” who is a contract hitman living in the futuristic, dystopian location called the Night City. The game is based on Mike Pondsmith’s tabletop RPG “Cyberpunk 2020” published in 1988.
