According to a receipt uploaded online by a client, getting your hands on one of Tesla's new Cybertrucks could cost you a lot of money.
Man Posts Whole Final Cybertruck Order Receipt And People Are Startled
The odd design of the Cybertrucks has drawn a lot of attention, as have questions about their safety. The Cybertruck is a huge, heavy vehicle with stainless steel bodywork. However, the truck isn't the only thing enormous about the Cybertruck; the price tag isn't cheap either.
If you want to purchase a Cybertruck, you'll need a lot of money. Tesla estimates that a rear-wheel-drive version of the automobile will cost roughly $60,990.
However, if you want the full four-wheel-drive version, which has been given the very subtle name “Cyberbeast,” you may find your wallet lighter by $99,990. According to a receipt posted by a customer on Reddit, the amount could be substantially higher.
The invoice lists the fees associated with purchasing the truck, with the first payment of $102,035 not representing the complete sum paid. That is, of course, the tax, because taxes in the United States are not automatically included in the price for some reason.
In this scenario, the sales tax equals $9,712.33. In addition, government and vendor costs total $1,295. So, the total price paid for the Cybertruck was $113,242.33. This is roughly double the average price of a truck in the United States, which is now listed at $59,000.
Cybertruck Pricing Shock: Buyers React to Hefty Costs and Resale Restrictions
People were taken aback by how much the vehicle costs, and that's before you throw in things like monthly insurance expenses. People took to Reddit's comments section to offer their thoughts on the excessive cost, as per Unilad.
“Imagine spending more than twice as much than what you originally agreed to for a vehicle that was 3 years late with much worse specs than what you originally bought,” one Reedit user wrote. “$115k for an $80k vehicle. Not great,” a second user retorted. "I can’t believe you paid 113k for a truck,” the third netizen simply stated.
The Cybertruck was the subject of controversy as Tesla allegedly threatened to prosecute buyers who attempted to resell their Cybertruck. Not only that, but a condition in the Cybertruck contract apparently said that Tesla might refuse to sell someone another vehicle if they resold their Cybertruck.
