Switch players will get a new mech action game in “Daemon X Machina,” from developer Marvelous, Nintendo announced at Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) on Tuesday.
As many fans expected, games coming to the Nintendo Switch occupied a great part of Nintendo’s E3 press event. While some titles announced have already been released on other platforms, there were also several all-new and exclusive games for the hybrid portable console, such as “Daemon X Machina.”
The announcement of “Daemon X Machina” was accompanied by a gameplay sneak peek, where mech robots of various shapes and sizes are seen battling it out in different environments. These robots are also able to fight up in the air or on the ground.
In the game’s official product listing, Nintendo reveals that the mech robots in “Daemon X Machina” are called Arsenal. Players will be given various options to customize the armors and weapons of their chosen Arsenal depending on what they think will fit for certain missions in the game.
“Choose and equip your Arsenal with a multitude of weapons, obtain more from downed enemy Arsenals, and swap them on the fly to suit your strategy in the face of ever-changing threats,” Nintendo added.
So far, it has been confirmed that the game is exclusive to the Nintendo Switch, but it has yet to be finalized if “Daemon X Machina” will only offer a single-player mode or if it will include a cooperative gameplay.
While “Daemon X Machina” is an all-new mech action franchise, the people behind its development have deep backgrounds in developing titles for the same genre. Its producer, Kenichiro Tsukuda, is popularly known for his work in the successful mech-based series “Armored Core.” Meanwhile, the game’s lead character designer is Yusuke Kozaki, who was attached to the making of “Fire Emblem Awakening.”
The game’s release is set for 2019 but its exact date is still unknown.
