ABC revealed the official list of personalities who will be competing on “Dancing with the Stars” season 27. The show will return with another interesting mix of celebs, athletes, and music artists, including a former “Harry Potter” movie star and a retired National Football League player.
The list of competitors and their professional dancer partners was unveiled on Wednesday on “Good Morning America.” “Dancing with the Stars” season 27 will begin with a total of 13 dancing pairs.
The “Harry Potter” star mentioned is Evanna Lynch, who became popular for portraying the character of Luna Lovegood in the movie series. Meanwhile, the ex-NFL player joining “Dancing with the Stars” season 27 is DeMarcus Ware, who used to play linebacker for the Denver Broncos and the Dallas Cowboys before retiring in 2017. These contestants are paired with professional dancers Keo Motsepe and Lindsay Arnold, respectively.
Like Lynch, most of the “Dancing with the Stars” season 27 competitors were originally known for their acting careers. Milo Manheim will try to win the show with the help of Witney Carson. Valentin Chmerkovskiy will be teaching actress Nancy McKeon for the duration of the show. “Fuller House” star Juan Pablo Di Pace is partnered with Cheryl Burke.
Aside from Ware, there are other cast members also known for being athletes before joining “Dancing with the Stars” season 27. Paralympic skier Danelle Umstead will be dancing with Artem Chigvintsev. Retired gymnast and Olympic gold medalist Mary Lou Retton is paired with Sasha Farber.
A couple of music artists also leap into the dancing scene by joining “Dancing with the Stars” season 27. Country singer John Schneider joins the show and is paired with Emma Slater. BET’s 2015 Best New Artist awardee Tinashe is also in the cast and will dance with Brandon Armstrong.
Podcast hosts Nikki Glaser and Bobby Bones are also joining “Dancing with the Stars” season 27. They will be training with professionals Gleb Savchenko and Sharna Burgess, respectively.
Social media personality Alexis Ren is partnered with Alan Bersten while “Bachelor in Paradise” alum Joe Amabile is paired with Jenna Johnson. “Dancing with the Stars” season 27 premieres on Monday, Sept. 24, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
