‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’ season 2: Cast, plot and release date prediction; What to expect in the next installment

Netflix anime series called “Demon Slayer” that is also known as “Kimetsu no Yaiba,” has become one of the streaming platform’s favorites and most-watched. With just one season, this show already gained millions of viewers, so it really deserves to get another run, so fans are really looking forward to “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” season 2.

This is a Japanese fantasy anime that was adapted from the manga series of the same title. The comic books were serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump from February 2016 to May 2020. On the other hand, the animated adaptation was launched in Japan in April 2017 via Tokyo MX, and it was aired until September of that same year.

Story background

“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” features the story of Tanjiro Kamado, a teen village boy. He is a good son who helps his family earn by selling charcoal. However, an unfortunate incident happened to his family when his parents and relatives were killed by Muzan Kibutsuji.

When he arrived back from selling, he found his whole family sprawled lifeless in their home. Only his sister named Nezuko was left alive but she was turned into a demon. Tanjiro vowed to take revenge and annihilate his family’s killer and he also wants Nezuko back.

He sets out to hunt for his enemies but the journey was peppered with challenges. He overcame everything and upon meeting Giyu Tomioka, a demon slayer, Tanjiro also became a demon slayer since this is the only way to help his sister become human again and carry out his revenge.

Spoilers - What to expect

In “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” season 2, Monster and Critics reported that it will begin with the story covered in the manga’s chapter 67. A cliffhanger at the end of this installment will give a big clue as to what will happen next after the Swordsmith Village story arc.

Fans can also expect to see two major demons that Tanjiro and Nezuko will face in “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” season 2. The siblings will fight them to save the swordsmith village.

Yes, Tanjiro will finally meet his sister again in “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” season 2. He will also get to know more about the demon land and probably get closer to this world and its inhabitants in the next episodes.

Release date

“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” season 2 has no exact release date yet. After its October premiere was canceled due to COVID-19, there is no update about a new schedule.
