Many anime fans around the world got hooked with the twisted love story that “Domestic Girlfriend” season 1 offered when it debuted in early 2019. While the second season is still in limbo, fans might want to revisit the series -- without the censorship -- and not need to go out and buy a physical disc.
‘Domestic Girlfriend’ season 1 uncensored episodes release date
Animes that show scenes with next-level gore, violence, and nudity are often slapped with censorships. Many fans are not fond of seeing it on screen, but that is the only way these shows can be broadcast on TV networks. “Domestic Girlfriend” season 1, just like the original manga series by Kei Sasuga, contained several scenes with nudity. But after more than a year since it aired, fans will finally be able to watch it without the visual barriers.
Anime streaming platform HIDIVE announced it had acquired the rights to release the “Domestic Girlfriend” season 1 Uncensored Edition starting on Wednesday, June 17, at 4 p.m. UTC. Fans will not be able to binge it, though, because HIDIVE confirmed it would be released in a “weekly rollout” manner, both for the subbed and dubbed versions.

“Domestic Girlfriend” season 1 Uncensored Edition will be available in limited territories across North America, the United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Latin America, Portugal, Spain, Australia, and New Zealand. It is unclear if the nature of the anime’s scenes has affected its limited availability, but it is still a rare chance as uncensored episodes have traditionally been the selling point of anime DVD/Blu-ray copies.
Is the streaming of “Domestic Girlfriend” season 1 Uncensored Edition free?
HIDIVE is legitimate anime and independent anime streaming company, and it is known for releasing uncensored versions of anime shows. This also means that using its premium services requires a subscription fee priced at $4.99 per month, but fans who are new to this platform can grab its 30-day free trial.
Once registered to HIDIVE, users should make sure their profile is set to allow Mature Content to find “Domestic Girlfriend” season 1 Uncensored Edition on their library. The release of the uncensored “Domestic Girlfriend” season 1 comes at the perfect time when the manga series has just ended last week with its 276th chapter.
