Donald Trump made a call to Jay Barrett on Tuesday night and it was not an ordinary call because it was a case of a wish being granted. Plus, the recipient of the call is just an ordinary man who does not have a connection in politics or the White House so this is something extraordinary.
As reported by CNN, Jay Barrett is a dying man who made a wish to see President Donald Trump or just talk to him via phone call. He has been suffering from cystic fibrosis and was reportedly only have a few months to live.
Before he passes, Barrett’s one wish is to meet the POTUS and it was fulfilled when Donald Trump made a surprise call. The president encouraged Barrett to fight and invited him to a rally as well. He was assured of a front seat and Barrett said he would try to go.
Jay Barrett’s sister Bridgette Hoskie uploaded the video of Donald Trump’s surprise call on March 5 and those who viewed it found the scenario really touching. They also praised the POTUS for his kind gesture and wished both Jay and the leader to be well.
As can be seen in the clip, Donald Trump told Barrett, "All right Jay, you look handsome to me. I just saw a picture of you." And he replied, "Oh, you're giving me kind honors. I look like s**t."
Donald Trump also called Jay Barrett a champ at one point and asked, "You're fighting it right?" to which the latter responded, "That's what the Irish do, right?"
Then the president said, "Yeah that's what the Irish do, you better believe it."
The president continued, "You're my kind of man, Jay. I'm very proud of you. I'll talk to you again, Jay, OK? You keep that fight going. We both fight."

In any case, Barrett is currently staying with her sister while being treated. His sister revealed that when her brother told them his wish, she wants to make it happen for his sibling.
"He said to me how cool would it be to visit DC and the President be there in the lawn waving. I wanted him to have a moment to say, 'Wow that just happened." Hoskie told CNN.
The call from Donald Trump was made possible after Hoskie asked people to email the White House for the request. She posted her plea on West Haven – The Way It Is blog site and the response was positive. Hundreds of people emailed the White House and he got the call.
Finally, WFSB reported that Jay Barrett still can’t believe that Donald Trump called him. He is very thankful and appreciative of the POTUS taking time out of his busy schedule just to make the call. He also mentioned his sister and everyone else who made his wish come true.
"They're doing me a favor because yeah, time is running out for me. I'm still going to be the same person. It lets you know we still bleed red, we come from the same country. We might have different paths and politics, different ideas, but why can't we just get along," he said.
