One of the most awaited anime today is “Dr. Stone” season 2. This may be one of the newest Japanese animations, but it apparently already gained a good number of followers. The show debuted in July 2019 and ended in December of that same year with 24 episodes.
As soon as the first season concluded, fans immediately waited for its renewal announcement. They want to know if the second season would still be arriving, and the producers also know this well, so they did not waste time and confirmed the second season by releasing a trailer in December 2019. Because it was posted not long before Christmas, some fans considered the confirmation as a gift.
What to expect in the upcoming season
The second installment of “Dr. Stone” will feature the new arc called the “Stone Wars.” While nothing much has been revealed about this, the title itself is a clue that there will be a battle in the upcoming episodes. The trailer showed Senku, Gen, and Chrome making a vow to fight together until the end, and they could have hinted about the war as well.
Also, the synopsis for the new installment is not yet available, but it was divulged through a leaked report that the characters will return with new looks. In a tweet, DBSHypeX posted images of the alleged new outfits and gears that the characters will wear in the next installment. Although the tweet was already deleted, it is believed to be legit since the article was originally published on a Japanese anime site.
What fans are hoping to see
Fans are hoping that in “Dr. Stone” season 2, the mystery of petrification will finally be solved by Senku. Byakuya Ishigami may also make an appearance again as his son found answers at last. He was not able to solve it thousands of years ago, and he believes that Senku is the one who can discover how the petrification happened.
Moreover, the avid viewers of this anime are also hoping to see how Senku will save civilization just like how his father had wished he would. It would also be interesting to see more of Senku and his friends’ inventions and scientific discoveries.
At any rate, “Dr. Stone” has no release date as of this time. Many animes have also been delayed due to the COVID-19 crisis around the world so filming could not resume. Then again, it was predicted that it may arrive as early as July.
