WASHINGTON, Feb. 17, 2016 -- DuPont Fabros Technology Inc. (NYSE:DFT), a leading owner, developer, operator and manager of enterprise-class, carrier-neutral, large multi-tenant wholesale data centers, today announced that it has received NQA certification ISO/IEC 27001:2013 for its Information Security Management System (ISMS) in four of its data centers within three markets: Virginia, Illinois and California. The certification confirms that DFT appropriately provides power, cooling and security within its data centers while preserving the privacy and protection of clients’ assets.
Awarded by National Quality Assurance (NQA), a leading global independently accredited certification body (registrar), providing assessments (audits) of organizations to various Management System Standards, the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification is the international standard for ISMS. ISO/IEC 27001:2013 provides the framework for a technology-neutral, vendor-neutral management system that enables an organization to assure itself that its information security measures are effective. This includes the continued information security processes to preserve privacy and the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability (CIA) of DFT’s information assets managed from its data centers and that of its stakeholders, as well as legal compliance.
“Earning this globally recognized certification is evidence of DFT’s continued commitment to security and compliance,” said Scott Davis, executive vice president and chief technology officer. “One of our customers’ top priorities is the protection of their mission-critical applications and data. We share this same concern and have institutionalized strict standards for the protection and security of information.”
The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) issued DFT’s certification. The accreditation is confirmed through a program of annual surveillance visits and a re-certification audit every three years.
