“Dynasty” season 2 premiered on Oct. 12 and the debut of the new season of the reboot of the classic TV series was well-received. The pilot, titled “Twenty-Three Skidoo,” also provided answers to last season’s cliffhanger about Cristal Carrington (Nathalie Kelley). What really happened to her?
In last season’s finale, Cristal was shot and trapped in the inferno of a burning building. Thus, it can easily be assumed that she is already dead. In her interview with E! News (via Deadline), Nathalie Kelley confirmed that she won’t be back in “Dynasty” season 2 so it seems her character really died.
On the other hand, she teased that there is a chance that Cristal may return because the writers can also opt to just put her in a coma or make something up so she can come back.
With Nathalie Kelley’s exit and her character dying in “Dynasty” season 2, Australia’s Who magazine reported that the fans are not happy. In fact, many of them were shocked by her death and they expressed what they felt on social media. One fan said that she can’t believe Cristal is gone while another one said it was a great season opener but Cristal was missed.
“Dynasty” season 2 is now on its second episode and it is titled “Ship of Vipers.” As shared by Dynasty TV Wiki, its synopsis reads: “While Blake focuses on his own selfish endeavors, Fallon goes to desperate measures to sell Carrington Atlantic to the Van Kirks. Sam and Alexis are determined to validate their suspicions about Melissa. Anders' daughter Kirby befriends the Colbys in order to seek revenge on Fallon to make her pay for the past.”
For its cast, with the exception of Nathalie Kelley as Cristal Carrington, series regulars Elizabeth Gillies (Fallon Carrington), Nicollette Sheridan (Alexis Carrington), Ana Brenda Contreras (Cristal Jennings), James Mackay (Steven Carrington), Rafael de La Fuente (Sam Jones), Robert Christopher Riley (Michael Culhane) are still on the show. They will be supported by equally talented actors like Sam Adegoke (Jeff Colby), Maddison Brown (Kirby Anders), Alan Dale (Joseph Anders) and Grant Show (Blake Carrington).
“Dynasty” season 2 episode 2 is set to air on Oct. 19 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
