There have been so many insulting and degrading tabloid stories released over the years that it can be difficult to surprise readers when coming across the ones put out recently. However, a new Ellen DeGeneres story has been making the rounds that stand out. It involves a divorce with her wife Portia De Rossi over the talk show host’s supposed defense of the comedian Kevin Hart.
The story about how Kevin Hart was removed as the host of the upcoming Oscars due to homophobic remarks that were leaked has been a hot topic in Hollywood. Now, it would seem that Ellen DeGeneres has been dragged into the matter thanks to a recent report by Star. Fortunately, Gossip Cop is here to save the day by debunking the false narrative.
The report basically noted that Kevin Hart’s recent appearance on the show that Ellen DeGeneres hosts has now led Portia De Rossi to want a divorce. This is supposedly due to the fact that the popular figure defended the comedian/actor. At least, this is what an alleged insider has told the tabloid outlet.
“Portia is disgusted by the way Ellen defended Kevin on her show… Ellen sat there on TV and listened to him moan and groan and encouraged him to rethink hosting the Academy Awards, saying she’d vouch for him. When Ellen actually called the Academy on Kevin’s behalf, Portia raised hell – and said they were through,” the supposed tipster reportedly told the magazine.
However, as one might expect, this Ellen DeGeneres story is completely false. The most persuasive evidence to counter the claim is an Instagram post that Portia De Rossi sent out just a day after the Kevin Hart interview. Considering just how close the couple looked with their handholding while riding horses, it could not be clearer that this particular report is complete nonsense.
