Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi are allegedly seeking divorce as the latter could not stand her wife’s ways anymore. The 61-year-old comedian and host was said to be so caught up with work that the former model called it quits.
According to OK! Magazine via New Idea, the moment DeGeneres made an announcement that she will stay with the “Ellen Show” for three more years, De Rossi was livid. Although the host’s fans were happy to hear the news, the model feels the opposite and this started a rift between the couple.
Sources stated that it seems Ellen’s signing of a new contract to continue hosting her show was a move that killed her and Portia’s marriage. The latter was said to hate it so much because it means that her wife will continue to work from 12 to 14 hours every day. She dislikes Ellen’s workaholic nature but since this already happens, she was left with no choice but to break up.
“It’s testing Portia’s limit to the max and the feeling is she could well walk,” the source told OK! “The talk does not come from nowhere as Ellen admitted last year that Portia was keen for her to explore other avenues and not just TV hosting.”
But then, an article published on US Weekly proved that the Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi divorce rumor is false. In the article, the former listed her wife’s qualities that held their marriage intact.
The “Ellen Show” host shared that her wife is really great and she always makes her laugh. She thinks that these traits played an important part in their marriage’s longevity.
“She is fantastic and she is very, very funny,” Ellen gushed. “She makes me laugh, which is really important.”
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi have been married for more than a decade now. Despite the divorce rumors, they always proved that their relationship is stronger than what most people think.
