Elon Musk's latest venture, Grok AI, has surpassed OpenAI's ChatGPT-4 in affordability and global reach, sparking widespread interest.
Grok AI Surpasses ChatGPT-4 in Price and Accessibility on Musk's X Platform
According to a recent tweet by an X and DOGE developer team member, using Grok on the X platform is significantly cheaper than paying for the ChatGPT-4 monthly subscription, per U.Today reports.
Grok is now available to all X Premium users. Grok is included in the monthly cost of this subscription, and using Premium and Grok costs $8 per month, compared to $20 for a monthly subscription to ChatGPT-4.
As a result, Elon Musk's Grok is now 60% less expensive to use than its OpenAI rival, which Musk considers woke. Musk first made claims against OpenAI and ChatGPT in early 2023, calling the AI chatbot woke because it avoids discussing sensitive topics with its users, such as sex, politics, religion, gender self-identification, and so on.
Musk's perspective on the value of free speech after acquiring Twitter for $44 billion and rebranding it as the X app. In subsequent developments, he decided to launch his AI-focused startup to compensate for what he perceives to be OpenAI's shortcomings. Musk founded xAI last year, and in the late fall, the company introduced the Grok AI chatbot to the community.
The bot was immediately integrated into X and made available via X Premium+.
Elon Musk's 'Unhinged' Grok Update Sparks Buzz and AI Rivalry
Meanwhile, Elon Musk has stirred the tech community by announcing an upcoming feature on the X platform, formerly Twitter.
Musk disclosed that Grok, an artificial intelligence tool, will soon introduce a new mode he dubbed "unhinged," which summarises trending topics and news for the platform's premium users. Despite Musk's characterization, an accompanying screenshot suggests the feature may officially be labeled as "regular mode."
The announcement has notably resonated within the cryptocurrency community, where enthusiasts have expressed enthusiasm for Musk's ongoing endeavors and his stance against what he perceives as the increasing incorporation of "wokeness" in the policies of major IT corporations, including OpenAI.
In a further development that captured the attention of both the crypto sphere and wider tech audience, the founder of CryptoQuant, a prominent figure in the cryptocurrency analytics space, shared an intriguing tweet. It featured a screenshot demonstrating Grok's ability to critique Musk humorously upon his request.
Musk highlighted this action to emphasize Grok's capabilities in contrast to ChatGPT, a competing AI developed by OpenAI, insinuating that ChatGPT lacks the autonomy to similarly "roast" its creators.
Musk's comparison between Grok and ChatGPT underscores the ongoing rivalry and diverging philosophies among tech giants regarding artificial intelligence development. Musk's initiatives and commentary remain focal points of discussion as the AI landscape evolves, reflecting broader debates over AI's role and the values it embodies.
