Formula One’s 2022 FormulaOne Monaco Grand Prix achieved an average viewership of 2.01 million to become the first European race to attract an audience of over two million for UK pay-TV giant Sky Sports.
The qualifying session on May 28th averaged 1.03 million views and peaked at 1.17 million, making it Sky Sports' most-watched Monaco qualification since the channel initially obtained the rights in 2012.
The race was won by Red Bull's Sergio Pérez after a rain-delayed start delayed proceedings by more than an hour.
On the same day, the Indy 500 was the most-watched IndyCar race ever for the pay-TV network, with an average of 231,000 viewers and a peak of 372,000.
