We are only few hours away from much anticipated FOMC decision. We expect, a 25 basis points hike in Federal fund rate, discount rates and 25 basis points hike in excess as well as required reserve. We also expects FED to announce overnight reverse repurchase agreement (RRP) to be operational and increase in its cap size from current $300 billion to $750 billion.
In this series w, in detail covered the probabilities and possibilities of a rate hike as well as general overview of today's decision.
However, there is one last element, everyone needs to be watchful and that is dissenters.
Dissenters to watch out for -
Richmond FED president, Jeffrey Lacker have been dissenting for past few meetings of FOMC, calling for immediate rate hike.
However, our today's focus is not him.
If FED, do hike rates, then we need to be watchful of dissenter doves, if any.
According to September projection materials, 3 among the participants called for first hike in 2016 and one called for 2017.
