The practice, which includes professionals from the Company’s Forensic & Litigation Consulting and Strategic Communications segments, provides high-end political and policy analysis, bespoke consulting and corporate advisory solutions for a wide range of corporate and financial clients.

The Geopolitical Intelligence practice will offer solutions for clients in two key forms:
- Corporate Advisory Service: A premium offering that emphasizes the impact of political developments on commercial outcomes, focusing on the issues of greatest concern to multinational corporations. The practice’s Corporate Advisory Service will provide clients with the full breadth of FTI Consulting’s global political risk capabilities in the form of notes and reports, a Web dashboard, indices and rankings, custom briefs, and in-office briefings. Clients will also have access to the Geopolitical Intelligence team and FTI Consulting experts around the world.
- Bespoke Consulting Solutions: Customized intelligence solutions to answer almost any regional or industry question. Bespoke projects can range from short-term transaction-specific due diligence to long-term analyses for institutions with ongoing exposure in specific regions. These include in-country sector, legislation or industry monitoring engagements; stakeholder mapping, scenario analysis, strategic planning or country risk assessments for market entry and transaction-related due diligence; and other strategic advisory services.
Mitch Silber, a Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting, will lead the Geopolitical Intelligence practice. Mr. Silber, who is based in New York, has more than 20 years of experience as a global political risk and intelligence analyst and is the former Director of Intelligence Analysis for the New York City Police Department’s Counterterrorism efforts where he was responsible for building out its intelligence analysis unit and monitoring, tracking and preventing terrorist threats to New York City. He is a regular commentator on political risk and terrorism-related issues for both print and broadcast news outlets, a visiting lecturer at Columbia University’s School for Public and International Affairs, and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
John Green, a Managing Director at FTI Consulting, will serve as the practice’s Director of Research. Based in New York, he brings more than 15 years of experience in political risk consulting and spent more than a decade at the consultancy Eurasia Group, where he conducted and managed research and served on the firm’s management committee. Mr. Green was directly involved in the development of Eurasia Group’s advisory services. In addition, he led Eurasia Group’s Asia and Africa teams and was extensively involved in the firm’s Europe and Latin America coverage.
