WASHINGTON, Jan. 27, 2016 -- FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE:FCN), the global business advisory firm dedicated to helping organizations protect and enhance their enterprise value, today announced that its FTI Technology business segment has launched version 8.6 of its award-winning Ringtail® e-discovery software. Ringtail 8.6 offers a number of feature and performance enhancements, including new timeline analytics and faster rendering, to enhance Ringtail’s usability and help legal teams efficiently find important data for legal, regulatory and investigative matters.
"Ringtail is exciting for us because with so many analytics tools, we can sift through data on the fly, and identify the most important documents faster and assess the data as a whole,” said Daniel Stromberg, E-Discovery Counsel at Outten & Golden, LLP. “Between visual email threading and concept analysis, predictive coding and other tools, Ringtail helps speed up our reviews so we can efficiently prepare for cases."
In addition to rendering speed enhancements that accelerate download times and page loads by 300 percent, Ringtail 8.6 offers existing and new users with a number of feature enhancements:
- Timeline visualization: A natural partner for Document Mapper™, Ringtail’s visual document review tool allows users to view document distribution over time and combine it with other variables, including search terms, to narrow the document set and hone in on a specific data range.
- Mobile binders: Users can securely view, search, annotate and tag key documents from anywhere and at any time on an iPad.
- Predictive coding improvements: New reporting, visualization, workflow and continuous active learning (“CAL”) options help users find and understand important documents earlier in the legal review process.
“Speed, greater ease of use and continuing our innovation around visual analytics – this has been our mantra and cornerstone of Ringtail product development for the past five years,” said JR Jenkins, Senior Director in the Technology segment at FTI Consulting. “As a result, Ringtail continues to lead the industry in delivering integrated, interactive analytics to speed legal review.”
The Ringtail e-discovery platform supports law firms and corporate legal teams of all sizes that are tasked with managing the complexity and scope of today’s global e-discovery. A full-featured platform, Ringtail software processes and culls data, provides a broad range of tools for quick data review and coding and gives users a comprehensive set of redaction and production tools. Ringtail also features world class visual analytics, concept clustering, predictive coding and advanced workflows. Ringtail is available on-premises, on-demand or in a Software as a Service (“SaaS”) deployment model.
FTI Technology and its Ringtail e-discovery software have received numerous honors from the legal and IT industries, including selection by The National Law Journal, The Legal Intelligencer, The Recorder and KMWorld, as leaders within e-discovery software and services. FTI Technology was also included in the ‘Leaders’ quadrant of Gartner’s ‘Magic Quadrant for E-Discovery Software’ report (Jie Zhang, Debra Logan, Garth Landers, June 19, 2014), and Gartner gave Ringtail the highest product score for the Legal Review Use Case in Gartner’s ‘Critical Capabilities for E-Discovery’ report (Jie Zhang, Garth Landers, October 6, 2015). A complimentary copy of the Critical Capabilities report is available at the FTI Technology site.
