‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ recently unveiled its latest teaser featuring a closer look at the new magical creatures to be introduced into the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise. It also featured Ron Perlman’s Gnarlack the mobster Goblin.
According to Collider, a new trailer for the upcoming ‘Harry Potter’ prequel film featured a closer look at the newest magical creatures to be introduced into the popular cinematic franchise based on J.K. Rowling’s bestselling novels of the same name. The trailer debuted at the recent San Diego Comic-Con held at the San Diego Convention Center.
An article on Tech Insider rounded up some of these new creatures seen in the footage. For instance, a house elf isvseen working at the Magical Congress of the United States of America, the North American counterpart of the Ministry of Magic.
Other creatures include Goblins assimilating in the wizardry community, an ape-like creature with silvery hair and big round eyes assumed to be a Demiguise, a snake-serpent crossbreed that may be an Occamy, a piglet called a Nogtail, a massive white bird that may be the Thunderbird, a tiny blue bug assumed to be a Billywig, and finally a strange bird-like creature that looks to be a Swooping Evil.
One of the images showed a Goblin dressed in gangster garb. The character was assumed to be the goblin named Gnarlack, who ran a magical speakeasy in Harlem in NYC in the 1920s. Ron Perlman of ‘Hellboy’ fame is set to voice the character, according to IMDB.
‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ is an upcoming adventure-fantasy film scheduled to be released on November 18, 2016. It is based on J.K. Rowling’s book of the same name and will serve as the author’s screenwriting debut.
It is considered a spin-off or a prequel of the original ‘Harry Potter’ cinematic series, which managed to earn a collective $7.73 billion at the worldwide box office. It is intended as the first film in a planned trilogy.
The film stars Eddie Redmayne as the lead protagonist Newt Scamander, Colin Farrell as Percival Graves, Ezra Miller as Credence, Katherine Waterston as Porpentina Goldstein, Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski, Alison Sudol as Queenie Goldstein, and Samantha Morton as Mary Lou. It is directed by David Yates and is produced under Warner Bros. and Heyday Films.
