NEW YORK, May 31, 2017 -- Fiduciary Trust Company International, a global wealth manager and wholly-owned subsidiary of Franklin Templeton Investments, is proud to support The Frick Collection (www.frick.org) by sponsoring Fired by Passion: Masterpieces of Du Paquier Porcelain from the Sullivan Collection. Starting June 8, 2017, the exhibition will be on view in The Frick's Portico Gallery until August 2018.
The exhibition will feature about 40 pieces of rare 18th-century porcelain produced by the Du Paquier Porcelain Manufactory in Vienna, including tureens, drinking vessels, platters and other objects coveted by aristocrats in Europe. The exhibition will also highlight the eclectic mix of references that inspired Du Paquier porcelain and illustrate the manufactory’s success and influence beyond Vienna.
“It is truly an honor for us to support The Frick’s commitment to provide the public with access to this collection,” said John M. Dowd, Chief Executive Officer of Fiduciary Trust Company International. "We look forward to continuing our support of one of New York City’s preeminent cultural institutions, and inspiring greater appreciation and enjoyment of art in the communities in which both our clients and employees live and work.”
Fired by Passion was inspired by a generous gift of 14 pieces of Du Paquier porcelain made to The Frick in 2016 by Paul Sullivan and Frick Trustee Melinda Martin Sullivan, whose holdings are considered to be the finest private collection in the world from this important early Western manufactory.
