It’s a rather common occurrence in the world of “Final Fantasy” enthusiasts to declare that “Final Fantasy 7” is the best entry, but many would disagree. In fact, there are those who believe that the eighth numbered installment is better. For those fans, the “Final Fantasy 8” Remastered announcement should be a treat to behold.
The “Final Fantasy 8” Remastered title was announced during E3, and it seems that Square Enix is finally willing to give something other than “Final Fantasy 7” some love and attention, Engadget notes. The original title was not included in the bundle that went to the Nintendo Switch, after all. This gave many fans the impression that the studio did not put as much faith into the game as it did with the others.
As it turns out, however, the company was simply busy trying to polish the PS1-era title to the point where it can be reasonably played today. Based on how the characters look in the trailer below, it would appear that they have largely succeeded in giving them some defining features, at least. This used to be an issue back in the first PlayStation days, “Final Fantasy 8” Remastered appears to have addressed.
Coming back to the “Final Fantasy 8” Remastered features, the only real details available right now is that there have been some polished graphics. By and large, many of the original aspects of the game will be retained. However, it will supposedly run on all major platforms and can even be obtained via Steam, so that’s something to look forward to.
As to when “Final Fantasy 8” Remastered is coming to the market, the trailer makes it clear that it is being released this year. Based on the current industry schedule, the remodeled title might hit stores during the holidays.
