Square Enix has been killing it recently, with follow-up after follow-up of “Final Fantasy XV” news. With the game’s release date being just a month away, fans are rabid for more updates. The studio obliged, with news about the downloadable contents, bringing back Moogles, and releasing a new trailer called “Omen.”
Square Enix was in Paris recently for the city’s annual games show and the company announced that there will be an online co-op option when playing FFXV, Gamespot reports. However, it would seem that the mode is only available as a DLC and is not part of the game as a default. Those who bought the title’s Season Pass for $25 will automatically get it once the content becomes available.
Aside from the co-op, three expansions will also become available for the game. The expansions will center on the three companions of the title’s protagonist Prince Noctis, Gladiolus, Ignis, as well as Prompto. The order of the expansions is exactly in that order as well, but there are no details regarding the individual prices of all the DLCs.
Square also announced during the event that the game has finally “Gone Gold,” which is a significant achievement with a game that has been almost a decade in the making. To hype gamers about it, even more, the developers released a new trailer, which starkly mirrored the dark themes of the game’s earlier teasers.
The video follows Noctis as he is taken through some sort of vision involving the fate of Princess Luna, Entertainment Weekly reports. The clip shows King Regis talking to somebody as well, though, it isn’t clear who at this point. In any case, the trailer was certainly true to form since it’s chock full of hints regarding the fate of the title’s protagonist.
Finally, Square finally brought back the cute and cuddly Moogle mascot from earlier Final Fantasy games; the small, pink version, with wings and a pompom on its head. However, instead of making it an NPC, the developers decided to make it a ragdoll, Polygon reports. Worse, it’s now a decoy that Noctis and his gang can use to distract enemies.
