The year 2019 is already looking like a great year for anime fans. But it will be much better if “Food Wars” season 4 will add to the list of shows going to premiere this year.
Various reports are hoping that “Food Wars” season 4 will be released before 2019 ends. And one of the indications that this is very possible is J.C. Staff’s track record in producing the anime series.
The studio has been consistent in putting out new episodes. Without reports of any delays in making “Food Wars” season 4, many are betting that the series will be back as soon as this summer. The hiatus between the Second Plate and the Third Plate was a little over a year seeing that the studio worked on a two-cour series or with 24 episodes.
If there are enough source materials to maintain a 24-episode run for “Food Wars” season 4, fans can expect another year of waiting. And because season 3 concluded in June 2018, this could mean that the Fourth Plate will return as early as the middle of the year.
Monsters and Critics is one of the publications that believe a 2019 release date for “Food Wars” season 4 is highly possible. But it is also worried that there are not enough manga chapters in the wild to complete a 24-episode run. In this case, anime fans might be looking at another season with only 13 episodes just like what happened in the Second Plate.
“Food Wars” season 4 will most likely cover how the Promotion Exams arc will end. It can be recalled that Soma, Erin, and the rest of the Rebels are up against the Central in a Régiment de Cuisine. If the Rebels win, the Central will be dissolved and the students wrongfully expelled will be reinstated in the academy.
As mentioned, 2019 is an exciting year for anime fans. Much-awaited shows such as “One Punch Man” season 2 and the part 2 of “Attack on Titan” season 3 are both slated to premiere in April. Hopefully, official announcements about “Food Wars” season 4 will also be out around that time.
