The dreaded hiatus due to COVID-19 will be over very soon. The anime would also return with a bang as “Food Wars” season 5, episode 3 could show the result of Soma and Suzuki’s shokugeki.
‘Food Wars’ season 5 episode 3 release date
There has not been a new episode since it was announced last April 18 that the anime would undergo a hiatus due to the ongoing pandemic. Fans have no other choice but to watch the reruns of “Fifth Plate” episodes 1 and 2 instead of new installments.
The situation will be getting better in a few days, though. The original announcement indicated that the regular broadcast schedule will resume this week. This means “Food Wars” season 5, episode 3 will be released on Friday, May 8, at 24:30 in Japan time (essentially May 9). Fans worldwide can then watch it a few hours later through official streaming platforms.
Producers previously noted, though, that they would announce should there be further changes in the TV broadcast of TOKYO MX and BS11 networks. But, as of this writing, plans for the “Food Wars” season 5 episode 3’s release has yet to change. It is a good sign that the hiatus would be over soon as intended despite Prime Minister Shinzo Abe extending the state of emergency in Japan until the end of May.
‘Food Wars’ season 5 episode 3 spoilers
“Food Wars” season 5, episode 3, is an exciting way to welcome back the series. It should feature how the informal shokugeki between Suzuki and Soma would go. While fans are likely rooting for the latter, this is not going to be a favorable match for him to highlight the magnitude of the threat that Suzuki will bring in the final arc of the series.
In the manga, Suzuki’s dish was so great that Soma was literally thrown off the window when he tasted it. To taunt the First Seat further, Suzuki would decide in “Food Wars” season 5, episode 3 he will not collect Soma’s knife despite winning the duel because of he already something better. This is related to Joichiro’s latest shokugeki in the United States, where a mask-wearing character defeated him, 5-0.
