Ford Motor Company has issued a recall for 227,006 vehicles in the United States due to various safety concerns, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The recall affects multiple popular models, including the Ford Bronco, Lincoln, Explorer, and Econoline vans, citing issues that could compromise driver and passenger safety.
The largest portion of the recall involves 163,256 Ford Bronco SUVs, which may have loose bolts on the front seats that could reduce seat stability during a collision. Another 56,841 Lincoln and Explorer vehicles are being recalled because their windshields may contain visible air bubbles, potentially affecting visibility and posing a safety risk for drivers. Additionally, 6,909 Ford Econoline vans are affected due to malfunctioning defrosting and defogging systems, which could impair visibility in cold or humid conditions.
Ford confirmed that dealers will replace or repair the defective parts free of charge to ensure customer safety and compliance with federal safety standards. The automaker is also addressing a separate recall issued the previous day for 175,000 vehicles, including Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator SUVs, as well as F-Series pickup trucks, due to moonroof wind deflectors that could detach while driving.
The latest series of recalls underscores Ford’s ongoing efforts to address manufacturing issues and prioritize customer safety. Vehicle owners are encouraged to check their VIN numbers on the NHTSA website or contact local Ford dealers to determine if their vehicle is included in the recall.
This recall adds to a growing list of automotive safety actions across the industry, highlighting the importance of timely maintenance and manufacturer transparency in protecting consumers.
