It has become clearer as the months passed that Epic is starting to use its hugely popular game as a means of generating buzz in a bunch of ways. In “Fortnite” Season 8, for example, it would appear that the company is promoting the band Weezer. This is in addition to a bunch of other features and locations that are now in the game.
As GameSpot reports, “Fortnite” Season 8 came with the new island in the game featuring the iconic symbols of the band Weezer. This comes in the form of the sign with the letter “W” and it even comes with a jukebox. The most telling aspect of this feature that paints it as a promotional content is the fact that the audio tool only plays songs by the band.
With this and a bunch of other promotional events in the past, it has become clear that Epic is using the popularity of its game to make it a portal for marketing. This could be worth noting going forward since the company could be planning on even more spectacular marketing schemes in the future. In the case of “Fortnite” Season 8, any fan of the band Weezer will likely enjoy what the new island has to offer.
As for the other things that came with “Fortnite” Season 8, the main island now has a volcano sticking out of it. This results in players needing to watch for new dangers, primarily in the form of molten lava. On top of that, there is also the pirate theme that the game is new saturated with and there is even an actual cannon in the game.
Suffice it to say, “Fortnite” Season 8 really brought in the goods in an effort to keep the game fresh and exciting. It’s no wonder that it still retains the crown of Battle Royale king.
