After several clues were dropped, many believe there is a big chance that “Fortnite” is going to be introduced to Nintendo Switch users. And the announcement just might take place in the coming week, at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2018.
Gaming fans know that every year, upcoming major events and conferences like E3 will pave the way for the announcement of much-awaited video games. And even before developers hit the E3 stage, unofficial reports and leaks became a normal thing. It is the same case for the supposed Nintendo Switch version of “Fortnite.”
Most recently, reports said the rumored “Fortnite” port for the hybrid portable console has been rated by the South Korean agency Game Rating and Administration Committee (GRAC). According to the GRAC Twitter bot (translated text), the game was rated on June 1 and was listed as “Fortnite Nintendo Switch.” The Korean board decided that the game is suitable for players aged 12 and above.
It is important to note that this does not serve as an official announcement of the game’s release nor a confirmation that its launch is happening anytime soon. But reports on a government agency rating the rumored “Fornite” for Nintendo Switch are credible enough for fans to keep waiting until Epic Games deems it the right time to officially make the announcement. Still, no one can blame the fans who are hoping that the much-awaited announcement will happen at E3 2018, taking place on June 12 through 14.
As expected, Epic Games declined to comment on the reports about the GRAC rating, according to GameSpot.
If “Fortnite” is actually going to be released on the Nintendo Switch, the next mystery to be solved is if the launch will feature only the “Battle Royale” mode or if it will include the “Save the World” gameplay.
The franchise has been very popular due to “Fortnite Battle Royale,” which can be played in Solo, Duo, Squads, 50v50, or in Limited Time mode. But the main idea is that 100 players will be fighting against each another until one player or one team becomes the last to stay alive.
