Freewallet, the developer of user-friendly crypto-wallets, has announced that it has localized the apps into Portuguese, Spanish, French, Russian, Korean and Chinese languages.
Starting from January 2016, the Freewallet team has developed and successfully released a number of cryptocurrency wallets, namely FantomCoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin, Dogecoin, Lisk, DECENT, Steem and Monero Wallet. With this new announcement, the service now covers 75% of fintech apps market, according to Google Play data.
The company said that only 25% of its customers are English-speaking countries and another 25% are located in Asia and Pacific. It said that the figures are not surprising as cryptocurrencies enable Third World people to use sophisticated financial services that were previously available only in developed countries.
Internet allows one to decentralize not only blockchain technology, but also the economy as a whole, distancing it from the world's financial centers. Therefore, cryptocurrency is so in demand in the regions, it said.
Freewallet said that it strives to expand its presence in non-English-speaking countries, enabling anyone to become a part of the crypto-world with its apps, regardless the nationality and income.
“There is a wonderful book by Victor Papanek “Design for the Real World”. Must read for design thinking people. Victor is well known for his Tin Can Radio that was made of metal food cans and powered by candle. Actually it was designed to be produced cheaply in developing countries. Imagine an impact of this invention on Godforsaken villages. Just like that radio, Blockchain can activate the peripheral economies. I want to see Freewallet as a kind of the Tin Can Radio. Simple, but well-designed tool for virtually anyone in the world. Localization is the way to achieve this goal”, Alvin Hagg, Freewallet co-founder, said.
