With official details with regards to “Frozen 2” being scarce, fans have been left to their own devices to come up with some of the most incredibly weird theories regarding the plot. One of the most convincing is the matter of Elsa and Anna going to rescue their mother from the clutches of evil. This evil could come in the form of their family who possesses powers.
As OtakuKart points out, the trailer released for “Frozen 2” only led to more questions than it answered. Why was Elsa trying to cross the ocean? What was the meaning behind the floating diamonds that Anna was looking at? Why are they going out on a journey? These and many more are the subjects of fan curiosity.
This curiosity then spawned several predictions and rumors with regards to what would spur all of these events to happen in “Frozen 2” and the answer could involve their family. Basically, with the trailer hinting that the late queen could have had powers, she could reach out to her daughters in the movie. From there, Elsa and Anna could then set out to try and rescue their mother.
As for the part about the captors being their own family or clan, it is a common theme in fairy tale stories that those with power tend to stay with their own kind. It is entirely possible that the sisters’ mother left the clan to marry their father despite the opposition from the family. This would certainly make the plot for “Frozen 2” far more intriguing.
For now, though, hardly anything concrete has been released as to the story and new characters that will be in “Frozen 2.” However, it can be expected that the film will feature a ton of instances where strong, female independence will be emphasized. Weak girls don’t try jumping over cave ravines, after all.
