FxWirePro: USD/CNY dips to hit three year low, scope for further downside

• USD/CNY hit three year low on  Friday as   China's yuan rose despite China's central bank setting a weaker-than-expected midpoint.

•The People's Bank of China (PBOC) set the midpoint   at 6.7894 per dollar, marginally softer than the previous setting, but 581 pips weaker.

•The central bank has been setting weaker-than-expected yuan fixings since November 2025, a move widely seen by analysts and traders as an effort to curb excessive appreciation of the Chinese currency..

• The yuan has strengthened around 0.6% against the dollar this month despite the softer midpoint fix, bringing its gains for the year to 3.6%.

•  Immediate resistance is located at 6.756(Daily high), any close above will push the pair towards 6.773(SAM 20)

• Support is seen at 6.746(23.6%fib) and break below could take the pair towards 6.741 (Lower BB).

Recommendation: Good to sell around 6.750, with stop loss of 6.800 and target price of 6.720
