Despite the fact that the game is almost three years old, “Rockstar Games” is still churning out updates and expansions for the online version of their hit title, “Grand Theft Auto V.” The latest to come out is “Cunning Stunts,” and it is now available for download for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the PC.
The newest DLC offers 16 stunt races for players to drive through and earn money with. The 1.35 update is also available now across all platforms.
“Rockstar” isn’t done adding content, however, as more stunt races and tracks will become available to players over the next few weeks. More than that, there’s the “Stunt Race Creator” that players will be able to fiddle with to create their own stunt race tracks and compete with other players. Similar concepts have been introduced to the game before via mods, but this is the first time that it will be featured in the multiplayer version, along with other players.
As Gamespot notes, there are different types of races, with regular races and “Premium” races. With “Premium” races, players will get bigger payouts and they will be racing against 7 opponents. Unfortunately, losers don’t get anything out of the race, even those that came in second place. There are some restrictions to the “Premium” racing content as well, according to “Rockstar.”
"To keep the competition sharp and balanced among the racing elite, Premium Races are locked to a specific vehicle or vehicle class and all competitors are required to own the vehicle or a vehicle within the set class," the developers said.
Players will also gain access to paid in-game clothing such as stunt racing jerseys and suits, as well as an additional 50 tattoos to fit the theme. This is on top of the various other offerings by “Rockstar” for players who participate in the “GTA Online” weekly events, which involve discounts with garages and vehicle customization.
