Japanese e-sports company Basara has decided to tackle the problem of set-up costs of high-performance PCs for serious gamers and is renting out gamer-ready apartments for gamers dubbed e-rooms.
The e-rooms come furnished with everything a gamer needs from a gaming PC with a gaming monitor, mouse and keyboard, a gaming desk, and a gaming chair.
The PC’s specs differ depending on the monthly rent.
The cheapest beginner plan, which includes a GeForce GTX1650 PC with an Intel Core i7 processor and 480GB of SS, has a monthly rent of 39,000 yen.
The more expensive elite plan costs 69,000 yen per month and includes a GeForce RTX3070Ti PC with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X processor and 1TB of SSD.
Renters get to choose their keyboard and mouse set up from a selection of famous brands, such as Logicool, SteelSeries, Corsair, and HyperX.
There are a total of 50 different keyboard/mouse configurations available.
The streamer package includes a webcam and microphone, which is a choice.
The company also sells the illustrator plan for digital artists and the video creator plan. Both plans provide apartments with PCs built specifically for digital artists and video producers, as well as additional extras like drawing tablets and monitor arms.
There are presently two e-rooms buildings in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, and Basara plans to have more throughout the country in the future.
Applications for the e-rooms open from early March.
