Artificial intelligence is one of the hottest topics in the tech industry right now and not always in a good way. With Google being one of the biggest proponents of the technology, it’s natural that the tech giant would want to make the response to AI as favorable as possible. This is why it is now offering free courses to teach people about the technology regardless of their technical skill levels.
The program is called Learn with Google AI and it basically takes potential students through the most important points of developing the technology. In a blog post discussing the initiative, Google explains what it’s about and what interested parties can expect.
“To help everyone understand how AI can solve challenging problems, we’ve created a resource called Learn with Google AI. This site provides ways to learn about core ML concepts, develop and hone your ML skills, and apply ML to real-world problems. From deep learning experts looking for advanced tutorials and materials on TensorFlow, to “curious cats” who want to take their first steps with AI, anyone looking for educational content from ML experts at Google can find it here,” the blog post reads.
The best part of making this program free is that it allows those who might be intimidated by the idea of machine learning to at least give it a try. What exactly would they lose except time?
For those who are a little more experienced in programming, Google is also offering a course called Machine Learning Crash Course (MLCC), The Verge reports. It’s apparently the same program that company employees were given to provide them with an introduction to the concept of AI and what they can expect from the technology.
The course apparently involves interactive exercises, instructional videos, and up to 15 hours of content. While the program is beginner-friendly, the caveat is that those beginners should have a fairly good grasp of algebra and programming.
