‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 13’s episode 4 is entitled “Falling Slowly” and may feature some trouble ahead for Ellen Pompeo’s Meredith and Martin Henderson’s Riggs as they struggle to keep their relationship secret in the workplace. Meanwhile, Jessica Capshaw addressed co-star Sara Ramirez’ departure from the series.
The synopsis posted on Carter Matt states, “Alex tries to do the right thing but still can’t catch a break. Jackson and April adjust to their “new normal” with the baby. While Meredith and Nathan establish what’s going on between them, Amelia questions the state of her relationship with Owen.”
It seems that Ellen Pompeo’s Meredith Grey and Martin Henderson’s new main character Nathan Riggs are struggling to establish their newfound secret relationship as they “mix business with pleasure”. It was speculated that the two may end up having a disagreement that may lead to dire consequences.
According to Melty, Maggie (Kelly McCreary) is still reeling from being turned down by Riggs. While Meredith and Riggs attempt to hide their relationship, the latter tells her that he intends to fix things up with Maggie as he felt bad for hurting her feelings. Meredith tells Riggs to go on a date with Maggie but act like a jerk to turn her off eventually.
In the episode 4 promo, Riggs tells Meredith that they should both hang out to which the latter replies, “I don’t hang out.” The two then continue their workplace flirtation.
In a later scene, Meredith concludes that a patient has no need for surgery after reviewing some scans to which Riggs agrees despite strong opposition by Owen (Kevin McKidd). However, the patient is seen experiencing complications prompting Meredith to confront Riggs with only siding with her because of his feelings and not because of skilled medical judgment.
Meanwhile, Jessica Capshaw made her highly-anticipated return to the medical drama series as Arizona. In a recent interview, she talked about her character’s latest love interest and addressed co-star Sara Ramirez’ departure from the series.
During an interview with TVLine, Capshaw was asked about her thoughts on the Arizona-Callie storyline to which she replied, “It was left open-ended. In the Shondaland world, there is still a character named Callie who lives in New York City. But I don’t know what the closure is yet.”
She said that Ramirez’ exit as Callie left a big impact on the show. She admitted, “To your analogy, it does feel like you’re going back to school, and there are things that are a bit different from the way they were before. But, obviously, [Sara leaving] was a bigger one. So definitely you feel the absence of any incredibly strong performer who is no longer there anymore.”
Capshaw also hinted at a possible new love interest for Arizona. She said, “My sources are telling me that it’s not going to be too far away. We had to wade through a little muck first. But I do feel that Arizona has certainly waited long enough.”
‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 13’s episode 4, entitled “Falling Slowly”, is scheduled to premiere on ABC on October 13, 2016. The episode is directed by Victoria Mahoney and written for the small screen by Jen Klein.
