Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant debuted his first signature Nike shoe, dubbed the Ja 1, on a 123-109 Christmas Day loss to the Golden State Warriors, becoming the 23rd player in NBA history to get a signature Nike sneaker.
According to Nike, the Ja 1 Day One colorway represents Morant’s dedication to basketball and his roots.
Nike added that the Ja 1 was designed to "maximize hang time", and reduce the impact from big landings via a locked-down fit.
The Ja 1 has “12 AM” printed across the heel and is decked in a mesh upper in Grizzlies blue, pastel-colored soles, and a swaggy Swoosh.
The Ja 1 “Day One” will drop globally on April.
Morant is averaging 27 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 7.8 assists in the current season.
