HOUSTON, May 08, 2018 -- GulfSlope Energy, Inc. (OTCQB:GSPE) (the “Company”) announces that the Ralph Coffman jackup drilling rig, owned by Rowan Companies plc, recently arrived in the Gulf of Mexico. This high spec drilling rig is currently undergoing U.S. regulatory inspections, routine annual maintenance, and installation of third-party equipment. The drilling rig will be ready early this summer for the Company’s anticipated 2018 drilling program (the “2018 Program”).
The Company is also pleased to announce that it has recently filed two Exploration Plans (“EP”) with the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management related to the 2018 Program. EPs were filed for Vermilion Area, South Addition Block 378 (Canoe Shallow prospect) and Ship Shoal Area, South Addition Blocks 336 / 351 (Tau prospect). Applications for Permits to Drill for both wells are in progress with anticipated approvals shortly after the EPs are approved.
