Every fan of Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani knows that their love story definitely started on the set of NBC’s singing competition “The Voice.” However, a recent report claimed that Shelton asked Stefani to no longer accept coaching duties for the TV series.
Life & Style (via Gossip Cop) reported that working in “The Voice” together just caused arguments between the couple. The report quoted an insider, who allegedly said, “Gwen and Blake don’t fight much at home, but when they were on ‘The Voice’ they disagreed and butted heads a lot.”
In addition to that, the idea that “The Voice” is putting a strain on their relationship allegedly came from Shelton. “It didn’t always make for a great environment, and Blake told her he wasn’t sure it was a good idea for them to work together anymore,” another quote in the Life & Style report reads. With that, Stefani purportedly rested her case and decided to no longer plan a return to “The Voice” simply because she “loves Blake more” than being a coach on the show.
Now that the claims have been made, it is time to see whether or not this was the real score. And based on Gossip Cop, a media outlet which rates rumors if they are fact or fiction, it is highly unlikely the Life & Style’s report was accurate.
Meanwhile, it can also be recalled that Shelton himself clearly expressed several times how much he loves being in “The Voice” set with Stefani. When the “Hollaback Girl” singer’s return in season 12 was confirmed, Shelton exclaimed that he enjoys having Stefani around. The acclaimed country music artist remembered how they have been having a blast, “high-fiving and partying” while they are actually working.
When Stefani decided not to return in the following seasons (which is likely not for good), Shelton still managed to express how much he loved working with his girlfriend. “Being in the vicinity of her is unbelievable,” he told Entertainment Tonight.
It is also not difficult for fans to notice how the two love to be in the same season of “The Voice.” Of course, there will be bantering among all four coaches — not just between Shelton and Stefani. And that’s what also makes fans love the show. And, at the end of the day, only good friends can throw that level of sarcasm at one another without hurting each other’s feelings.
