The premiere of “Hawaii Five-0” season 10 has one big question to answer. Who between McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) and Jerry (Jorge Garcia) are hurt from that unexpected season 9 finale?
Season 9’s final moments initially seemed like it was building up on a satisfying ending. McGarrett was visited in his office by the wife and son of Omar Hassan. The woman spoke about forgiveness and how it was important for her son, but she ended up taking out a 3D-printed plastic gun and firing it on Jerry and Steve’s direction. Whoever got shot remains a mystery until, possibly, the airing of “Hawaii Five-0” season 10.
It is quite genius to end the season this way. It makes sure that fans will demand the show to come back with “Hawaii Five-0” season 10. Otherwise, how else would they know the conclusion to that plot twist?

There are two obvious ways that “Hawaii Five-0” season 10 will start the season. It by having either Steve or Jerry lying in the hospital bed and nursing a very critical wound. If Steve ends up to be the one that was hurt, that already makes for an interesting plot because he is obviously the show’s foundation.
If “Hawaii Five-0” season 10 premieres with the commander in the hospital bed, it would allow fans to see the show with a slightly different dynamic among the team. This could also open up to more possible plots that have the potential to become a season-long story arc since it concerns Steve.
On the other hand, having Jerry in the hospital bed by the start of “Hawaii Five-0” season 10 can also become a game changer for the team, especially for Steve. Jerry is an essential member of the team. And for Steve to come out of that experience being saved by someone could change his entire life and leadership perspective affecting how he acts and thinks in the upcoming episodes.
Meanwhile, the producers and writers could also start “Hawaii Five-0” season 10 with a “gotcha” moment by revealing that the bullet hit the wall. CBS has already renewed the show and it is expected to return in fall.
