When you use our services, you will note that we are not like most conventional Japanese recruiting companies. Rather, we concentrate on adding value to businesses. "We help them realize their idea of cultural and linguistic diversity," says Himanshu Jain, co-founder.
Himanshu Jain and his colleague Naoko Takahashi agreed it was time for something new after recognizing the huge potential for improving the recruiting service in the region. As a result, they founded ReachExt K.K., a one-of-a-kind recruiting firm. One of their distinguishing features was their conversion of the standard organization approach to consultancy by domain and technological experts. In a brief period, the company established itself as one of Japan's leading recruiting firms.
What is ReachExt K.K.? ReachExt K.K. is a recruiting firm that stands out. It's not really about choosing the right person for the job. Rather, the organization makes every attempt to bring value to both job seekers and workers in Japan and the APAC area for their recruiting needs.
“In Tokyo, Japan, ReachExt is one of the fastest growing bilingual recruiting firms, working for the challenging roles for Fortune-500, Fortune-50 and many elite successful startups. The key goal of our company is to link multilingual and multicultural expertise with institutions in Japan and the Asia Pacific region.
We also want to extend our business to include social personnel consulting," says Himanshu, the Managing Director. The climate is shifting, even though Japan struggles to work in the same old conventional way. To remain successful, the country's working community needs to be more diverse in individuals, opinions, and views.
"In our world, there is currently a massive gap between demand and supply for bilingual and multicultural recruiting. We appreciate the difficulties that businesses face when it comes to finding the right candidates for the job. And due to time limitations, it becomes much more complex," Himanshu says.
As a result, ReachExt K.K. assists businesses by guiding them in the right way. They adopt a somewhat more consultative approach to their work. The aim is to match job applicants with jobs and responsibilities that they are qualified for. Rather than using it as a checkbox test, ReachExt K.K. means that the applicants possess the necessary abilities, proficiency, and mindset.
Standard Hiring vs. ReachExt K.K. Himanshu identified a problem with the new recruiting processes after living in Japan for 18 years. He discovered that 44.2 percent of working women worked part-time or on a contract basis. Add to that Japan's Gender Inequality Index ranking of 19th out of 188 countries. The numbers do not paint a positive image of Japan's current recruiting policies.
"We acknowledge that there really is a challenge, and we must do our part to resolve these concerns. We are forming an all-women agency to discuss the issue of sex fairness and inclusion in Japan. And we want to maintain this progress to the maximum level."
"To bring the change outside, we need to have a change inside first. We are forming an all-women agency to discuss the issue of gender fairness and inclusion in Japan. And we want to maintain this progress to the maximum level."
The fact that ReachExt K.K. understands the markets they represent sets them apart from most conventional recruiting firms. "At ReachExt K.K. we agree that multicultural skills are important for several corporations," Himanshu confirms of something like the distinction. Particularly for multinational companies that either do business in Japan or are preparing to do so. There aren't many recruiting firms that specialize in finding bilingual applicants who are also skilled. It is why we want to focus our efforts in this direction."
Different perspectives of company’s co-founders:
Although their different perspective on the issue of recruiting, none of the company's co-founders had any prior experience with recruiting services before beginning their business. The recruiting industry is a competitive sector dominated by businesses that generate multi-billion dollar revenues and have decades of experience. ReachExt K.K., on the other hand, transformed their only flaw into a strength. “We understand that hiring people is both a science and an art.
What happens in one location would not fit in another. Most recruiting firms are unaware that employing a candidate for a specific work position necessitates seeing the long-term image. We function to eliminate biases." Conducting recruiting interviews is a challenge for both the recruit and the interviewer. When doing interviews, it's worth taking the time to have in-depth conversations and orientations with the candidates.
"Even if there's a fair chance you'll make a big mistake right at the start of the interview." And making a bad decision would affect you much more making a bad rejection," the Co-founder explains. What Future Plans Does ReachExt K.K? Have? By changing and diversifying in the field, the firm plans to continue to improve its recruiting operations. Their current emphasis is on addressing the key pressure points of their Japanese clientele.
ReachExt seeks to assist firms joining the Japanese industry as well as small businesses looking to export internationally. Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines, and Australia are among the countries where the firm aims to develop its hiring consultancy.
In addition, ReachExt K.K. is preparing to open a web platform to provide services in the near future. These activities are targeted at Japanese job seekers as well as those who want to start a career in Japan.
