In about a week, it is going to be seven months since the current hiatus started. On the bright side, series creator Yoshihiro Togashi left fans with a promise that “Hunter x Hunter” chapter 391 and nine more installments were already in the pipeline before he went on another indefinite break last year.
In late November 2018, Togashi admitted to fans that he needed another hiatus without promising and exact time of his and his team’s return for “Hunter x Hunter” chapter 391. This is sad news in the sense that another uncertain waiting game has begun. But on a good note, at least, Togashi confirmed that the manga series will still continue. So any cancellation rumors at this point are baseless and not true.
Another positive news about this is that Togashi gave an update about their continuing work for the series. What he did promise was that he already finished the storyboards for “Hunter x Hunter” chapter 391 and nine following chapters. “So I’ll get started again soon depending on various circumstances such as my health,” Togashi added.

Fans who are still devotedly following the series are already used to long breaks with uncertain return dates. In fact, there was even a time like in 2015 when not a single new chapter was released. The number of new chapters to arrive in 2019 is quite hard to predict, but fans can only hope that at least “Hunter x Hunter” chapter 391 and nine other chapters would be dropped before the year ends.
On that note, keep in mind that Togashi did not promise anything for “Hunter x Hunter” chapter 391 and the making the storyboards is not the last part of making a manga. While fans will naturally hope (and even demand) that the next chapters be released in 2019, it is still safe to leave a slight room to expect that it will not happen.
Many have also expected “Hunter x Hunter” chapter 391 to drop within the first half of 2019 probably because of the schedule of new chapter releases last year. Unfortunately, the chances that Togashi will deliver another 20 chapters in a single year dwindles down as June is almost over without any official work on “Clash — Part 2.”
