ST. LOUIS, July 27, 2017 -- TierPoint LLC, a leading national provider of hybrid IT solutions, announced today that it has been selected by Huttig Building Products, Inc. (NASDAQ:HBP) to provide colocation and data center migration support services.
Huttig is one of the country’s largest wholesale distributors of specialty building products and millwork for residential construction, repair and remodel, and light commercial applications. The St. Louis-based company has experienced rapid growth and to accommodate that growth made the strategic decision to outsource hosting of its primary data center. The move will allow Huttig to recapture data center space at its corporate headquarters while positioning its IT team to focus on strategic business initiatives.
“We were impressed by TierPoint’s consultative team approach to ensuring our data center migration is as seamless as possible,” said Mike Truax, Huttig’s Director of Infrastructure. “In selecting TierPoint we considered many factors, including design of the facility, staff expertise in supporting our requirements, security and scalability of the infrastructure, and customer service focus; all of which are essential to Huttig’s continued growth and IT success.”
Dan Capra, TierPoint Regional Vice President, said that customers are increasingly outsourcing their IT infrastructure to hybrid IT solution providers like TierPoint. “Enterprises that need colocation services today are planning for the future which could include cloud and managed services. Huttig is a very forward thinking company and we are excited to partner with them to meet their current and future needs.”
