HyperEVM is a general-purpose Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) incorporated into the Hyperliquid network that enhances the dApp building experience by extending support to established Ethereum infrastructure. With the benefit of not being in an isolated chain, HyperEVM integrates within the Hyperliquid Layer 1 (L1) blockchain so that apps are easily transitable with negligible adjustment and permitting app building alongside the issuance of fungible and non-fungible tokens. This compatibility enables developers to easily port their skills in Ethereum to HyperEVM's ecosystem and make use of their common expertise and resources.
Enhanced Performance and Architecture of HyperEVM
HyperEVM optimizes transaction processing speed with reduced block times and decreased gas fees compared to traditional EVMs. Concurrent EVM execution and cross-blockchain interconnectivity use a double-block system, while the HyperBFT consensus algorithm based on proof-of-stake offers improved security and transaction validation efficiency. Native Components and System Contracts execute smart contracts and manage resource distribution in Hyper EVM, and Precompiles provide direct read access to L1 data within the EVM.
Boosting DeFi Capabilities through HyperEVM's Interoperability
By communicating with the native elements of the L1 directly, HyperEVM supports direct EVM-to-L1 and L1-to-EVM transfers, DeFi capabilities enriched through the spot transferring of native HYPE and the EVM token-based HYPE. Hyperliquid consensus integration provides improved security and efficiency in transactions by speeding them up without multiple validations. HyperEVM aims to provide an open user experience with quicker transaction speeds and lower fees, thus it is a good platform for building accessible and practical dApps
