IBM made an announcement this week and it was related to its acquisition of Waeg, a leading Salesforce Platinum Consulting Partner that has offices around Europe. With the deal, the computer hardware company will be extending the range of services it offers.
IBM’s strategy for acquiring Waeg
As per Reuters, the International Business Machines Corporation or IBM is also looking to improve the support for its hybrid cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) strategy once the acquisition of the consulting partner is completed.
Waeg is based in Brussels and it was said that IBM’s decision to buy it complements the company’s earlier purchase of 7Summits, an American consultancy firm specializing in Salesforce's customer management software. Thus, this new deal is a good investment for the New York-headquartered tech firm.
"Salesforce continues to play a critical role in companies' digital transformations as they adapt to the conditions created by the pandemic,” IBM’s senior vice president for global business services, Mark Foster, said in a press release. “Trust is the new currency of customer and employment engagement, and every touchpoint is an opportunity to personalize the relationship."
He added that Waeg's strength in the field of Salesforce consulting services would be IBM’s key to forming intelligent workflows that let clients easily keep pace with the changing customer and staff expectations and needs.
About Waeg
As mentioned earlier, Waeg provides Information Technology and other salesforce services. It is based in Brussels since it has many clients in the European region.
Currently, the company is said to have 130 employees stationed in Denmark, France, Belgium, Portugal, the Netherlands, Poland and Ireland. The firm calls its staff “Waegners” and with this team, the company is a holder of more than 400 Salesforce certifications that make Waeg, an expert in its field. It also boasts of expert distinctions in Salesforce's Navigator program in the area of manufacturing, Salesforce B2B commerce and Pardot.
Finally, IBM is expanding its cloud and AI consulting services to offer customers an experience-led digital transformation and the acquisition of Waeg is part of its strategy for this expansion. The terms and agreement of the purchase were not made public as of this time.
